Reser’s Fine Foods - $126MM Pasco, WA Plant

Project type

Packing Plant

Date

2020

This $126MM project for Reser’s Fine Foods involved the massive new construction of a 340,000 SF state-of-the-art food processing footprint in Pasco, WA. The facility is anchored by a 270,000 SF anhydrous ammonia-refrigerated plant designed for complex operations including potato washing, sorting, dicing, and dairy processing, supported by industrial ovens, chillers, and expansive freezer and dry storage warehouses. The site also features a 25,000 SF administrative wing housing R&D food labs, a cafeteria, and specialized locker and laundry facilities, alongside dedicated shipping, receiving, and maintenance offices with 12 loading docks. Constructed using a high-performance mix of structural steel, masonry, and insulated metal panels (IMP), the building’s automated systems are fully integrated with the food processing lines, HVAC, and life safety controls. A notable logistical feat included boring sewer lines directly under the adjacent highway to connect process waste to a manufacturing treatment facility—all completed within a rigorous 12-month schedule that successfully incorporated a 70,000 SF addition mid-construction.
